With the legalization of Cannabis in Canada consumers are now exposed to many new products. One of these delivery methods for ingesting Cannabis is vaping.
According to the website www.medicaljane.com they define vaping like this:
“Vaporizing, as it applies to medical marijuana, is the process of heating dried cannabis to a temperature just below its combustion point of 392°F. Although vaporizers have been around for some time now, it is only in the last five to ten years that the benefits of vaporization have become widely known.
Proper cannabis use has noticeable health benefits. In fact, nearly all of the health issues and problems associated with potentially harmful smoke (including carcinogens, tar, etc.) can be avoided if the herb is only heated to the point where the desired cannabinoids (typically found in the resin of the flower), are released without igniting/destroying the material. This is precisely what a vaporizer does.”
With the noted differences between vaping and actually smoking cannabis, there are also the social aspects. Typically, when someone mentions “smoking weed” people tend to always associate that with Cheech & Chong getting stoned. I know that I automatically think about billows of heavy smoke, a real marijuana smell, and people getting stoned.
That perception is not just mine, it is held by a majority of businesses across Canada. Even when someone has a medical use for Cannabis, corporate policies forbid the consumption on site. Should employees get caught, the process normally ends in immediate termination.
What vaping does is gives people options. Many high-level executives may be engaging in vaping as a way to destress or manage chronic pain. Vaping provides them with the ability to still ingest cannabis, but in a more discreet manner.
Vaping has become an acceptable alternative for cigarette smokers, and someone vaping cannabis would more than likely not even get a second look. This means that more people can leverage the medical benefits of cannabis without having to live with the social stigma of being a “pot head”.
It is incredibly forward-facing technology that is taking Canada by storm. If you are looking for vaping products check out our selection at http://litrx.ca/product-category/pens/
